    This would be pretty ominous, if true, but I’m not seeing confirmation of this on any reputable website. The closest mention is on MarketWatch of layoff rumors coming from one source, and only pegged at 10%.

    I’ll pose a contrarian view. Microsoft launches Vista. Many of those who try it report problems and an e-maild spoof of Vista becomes an Internet hit. Meanwhile the average customer base seems happy with the product as it is. Why do they need a large staff to make product innovations the market evidently doesn’t want? That being so, aren’t they just plain overstaffed no matter what the economy is?
